This subject will provide students with an understanding of workplace injury management and the workers compensation system. Principles of workplace rehabilitation and legislative requirements will be covered, with a particular focus on NSW. This will include: obligations of key stakeholders; components of a workplace 'return to work program'; 'return to work' planning: injured worker entitlements; dispute prevention and resolution. Students should gain practical skills and experience in workplace injury management through the use of case studies, with an emphasis on maintaining an injured worker in the workplace and facilitating a safe and durable return to suitable work.
